The Greater Charleston GreenMap was conceived, designed, and developed by Krissie & Barry Patterson. Once our application was accepted by the Green Map System (www.greenmap.org) in 2004, we started designing and developing the first print version. After years of hard work and support from the community, we published it in 2007. By bringing the Green Map online through the Green Map System's tools, and support by Google, we are able to dramatically expand the map in both content and geographical area. Our original goal from four years ago remains the same - to provide a resource that will enable all of us to make everyday choices that are green/sustainable and more local.
